What Reiki is:
Reiki (Rei-ki) is Universal Life Force Energy – the energy that surrounds us.
The energy healing technique of Reiki is a subtle, effective, safe, gentle, and non-invasive. Reiki uses Universal Life Force Energy (Rei-ki) for stress reduction and relaxation to promote healing. After a Reiki Practitioner undergoes an attunement process, he/she is a conduit for Reiki healing and is able to transmit Universal Life Energy to a client. Reiki strengthens the body’s natural ability to heal itself on all levels, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
What Reiki is not:
Reiki is not massage. Reiki is not religious or dogmatic in any way. The system of Reiki does not ask for any specific religious affiliation or belief, therefore it is also not necessary to belong to a particular belief system. It is available for everyone regardless of age, ethnicity or religious belief. A person doesn’t need to believe in anything to benefit from Reiki. Reiki is not new and Reiki energy itself is thousands of years old.
I have also always had a heart to want to help others. I have a strong intuition and the ability to feel the energy of people and understand and empathize with others. It's not a coincidence my journey has been one of being a teacher both in the United States and overseas, caregiving for elders, volunteering with Hospice, health coaching, instructing fitness, and practicing Reiki. My strong intuition and the ability to feel other people’s energy has helped me connect closely both professionally and personally to students, parents, other professionals, elders, clients, community, friends, and family.
Benefits of Reiki:
Reiki may relieve pain or discomfort from headaches, migraines, neck pain, shoulder pain, lower back pain, and jaw pain.
Reiki may improve clarity and focus, flexibility and range of motion, motivation, and an overall greater sense of well - being.

Reiki may help return us to balanced functioning on every level – physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, even socially.
Who is Reiki for:
Reiki is for everyone regardless of age or state of health. Because Reiki encourages a person’s system toward it’s unique balance, Reiki can potentially benefit anyone, whether he or she is healthy and wants to stay that way or is addressing any kind of health concern. In addition to facilitating the body’s own self- healing, Reiki can also be used to promote and maintain wellness. A person can think of Reiki as a commitment to wellness where including Reiki in their regular wellness regimen might make your overall feeling of well-being go from good to radiantly great!
What to expect in a session:
One on One Reiki Session
A session is typically 50 minutes long. For the first session, we will start with a discussion for 15 additional minutes so we can align and have an opportunity to discuss any particular problems or issues that you are experiencing and ask what you are hoping to achieve from your session and your Reiki journey.
For the actual session, you will rest comfortably on a massage table on your back with shoes and coat removed. Reiki can be performed with you sitting comfortably in a chair as well if you prefer. Unlike massage therapy, no articles of clothing are removed and you are always fully clothed; loose, comfortable clothing is suggested.
